Our Story

The Plimsoll is a distinctive pub located at 52 St Thomas's Road, Finsbury Park, London N4 2QW. Established in 2021 by chefs Ed McIlroy and Jamie Allan, the duo behind the acclaimed kitchen residency Four Legs at The Compton Arms, The Plimsoll has quickly garnered attention for its unique blend of traditional pub ambiance and innovative cuisine.

Occupying the former Auld Triangle pub, The Plimsoll retains much of its original character, featuring wood paneling, vintage decor, and a cozy atmosphere that pays homage to its roots. The establishment was revitalized through a successful crowdfunding campaign, allowing the owners to refurbish the kitchen and introduce a menu that reflects their culinary creativity.

The menu at The Plimsoll is known for its frequently changing offerings, showcasing a range of dishes that blend classic pub fare with contemporary twists. Notably, their Dexter cheeseburger has been lauded as one of the best in London, and other dishes like deep-fried oysters on baguette and scallop escabeche highlight the chefs' inventive approach.

Embracing the spirit of a true neighborhood pub, The Plimsoll offers a welcoming environment where patrons can enjoy quality food and drinks. The establishment accepts reservations for tables of up to six people in the dining room, while the bar area remains open for walk-ins.
